The Medical Scholarship Fund of Monroe County
In 1970, the physician board of the Monroe County Medical Society resolved to start a scholarship that emulated its mission statement to support the education of doctors.
Since this inception, the Medical Scholarship Fund aligned its mission to offset the ever-increasing educational costs associated with the highest levels of medical training by choosing qualified and highly talented candidates from the Rochester medical community.
Our foundation enriches the lives and futures of students by granting scholarships annually.
Partnering with the University of Rochester and now LECOM, we have seen over two-hundred graduates benefit from tuition assistance and open doors into Rochester’s vibrant medical community and beyond.
Our Mission
The Medical Scholarship Fund of Monroe County was developed to award UR and LECOM Medical School students with scholarships to help offset tuition costs. Our goal is to decrease debt and to continue encouraging students to consider a rewarding medical career in Rochester, NY.
